This product design presents the development of a PVC pipe climbing robot designed to address the challenges associated with the inspection and maintenance of PVC pipe networks. The robot features a modular and adjustable chassis made of lightweight aluminum, coupled with a unique wheel design incorporating flexible polyurethane foam and a rubber coating for enhanced traction.
A significant advancement in this project was the development of a second wheel design, which introduced an aluminum shaft core and direct mounting mechanism to improve stability, durability, and overall performance. Extensive testing and validation demonstrated the robot’s ability to navigate through PVC pipes of varying diameters, overcome obstacles, and maintain reliable operation. The successful implementation of the second wheel design enhances the robot’s traction, stability, and adaptability, leading to more efficient and accurate pipe inspections.
